Le Brea Tar Pits III by Aventine-Images Le Brea Tar Pits III by Aventine-Images
A huge number of fossils of the Dire Wolf have been recovered at the Le Brea Tar Pits. Often with the remains of the prey they hunted. The Dire Wolf like today's wolves hunted in packs. When their prey would become trapped in the tar the wolves would attack and become trapped themselves.
